I took 150 litres of sea water contaminated diesel from a boat fuel tank, sat in in the garden for a few weeks to allow the water and debris to drop to the bottom then syphoned it leaving about an inch, tested a little in a jar from near the bottom to see if any water content, then put the whole lot in clean containers. Destined for my boat !
You can get additives that emulsify or demulsify the fuel, one drops the water content, the other mixes it with the fuel to be burnt.. Strangely enough the red diesel after sitting in the garden for many months went clear ?
I would go for it !
If you read online diesel does not keep ??? Funny how diesel engines, or at least older boat ones that can sit around for up to a year have no issues with old fuel...
