Hi guys new on here,
I have a 2009 cls 320 , it's getting a right pain the rectum to start when hot, I have had it put on a computer at the garage which said it's got dpf ,egr , sensor problems , however I didnt think they would have caused this?? I do roughly 900 motorway miles a week aswell so it isnt like it doesn't get hot enough, any ideas? Any help appreciated

Cps is normally the culprit for hot start issues but a session in star would confirm with live values when hot.
Does your car get up to temperature when your running, I’ve just had my thermostat done as it would at times struggle to hit 80 even though my commute is 80 miles, during a regen it would get close to 90 but I’d noticed it was trying regens more often so certainly wasn’t happy with the lower temperature.

The regeneration of the DPF doesn’t sound like your problem, I honestly think it will be a CPS sensor that’s gone and giving duff info when it’s hot,

cps..its a no issue when cold, right ? however, if you can, get a diagnosis first on the hot engine, lots of stuff on these cars gets changed needlessly and at some expense.tho a spare cps is not likely to get wasted if your car is a long term keeper.

If you tell us whereabouts you live, someone will advise on a good Mercedes specialist indie in your area. They have all the right diagnostic kit and will save you a fortune. You have a fine car, so the correct maintenance is well worthwhile.

Had a hot start issue with my W210/E320 some years back. After a lot of checking by local MB mechanic and all to no avail I decided to change the fuel pump myself and voila! No more hot starting problems since.....it is an after market pump which runs a little noisier but at least it works.
