I,ve just changed my condensor which i got from euro car parts..
I must say i cant remember the last time i spoke to someone on the phone that was so friendly and helpfull !!
He even checked the merc database to make sure i get the correct condensor, and a nice discount ;)
The job itself was horrible to do.. Hardest part was figuring out how everything is held together and where all them elusive nuts and bolts are hidden.
Rang kwik fit today to get system regassed.. they told me £49.95
told them garage up the road is doing it for £29.95.
they then said they would do it for £25 !!! Bargain.
Now i have cold air for the first time in 4 years... Lets hope i have cured the leak .

Air con when the gas is low will often work OK on medium temp days say up to 20c, but in temps over that they do not work if the pressure is too low.

Just so you know, the various pressures will be the same in relation to any given temperature. Weather you have a system full of refrigerant or just a cup full.
Its the quantity by volume if insufficient while prevent it working well on a hot day.

Its easy, if you have a lift and the right tools.

Remove front bumper
Remove intercooler (if diesel)
Remove top slam panel
Remove cooling fan (again if fitted)
Push radiator forward (no need to drain cooling system)
Disconnect AC pipe and temp sensor
Unclip condensor from radiator and slide downward.
Reverse proceedure to install
Regas AC system.

although mine hasn't been fully diagnosed, re charging apparently says there's a leak and the general consensus seems to be it will be the condenser.

Does anyone have instructions for W203 (C180 Kompressor) 2004 condenser replacement? They would be greatly received.

If its leaking there is probably no gas in it anyway, I have just put a can of DIY gas into mine and there is still no pressure, so that has no doubt escaped as well.
