W124, 1995, Option 814 and 253

Has anyone any idea what is included with the options in the title? The car a Japanese W124, and I'm wondering if the head unit is going to be useless in the UK?

It might be as the Frequency Ranges are different in Japan. I believe they only start at 76 to 95mhz or something like that.

Any experience of the active bass speaker? All my past 124's have had abysmal sound systems..

I've had a couple of w124's and everytime I've swapped out the original unit and put in an aftermarket one. Even with the original speakers a 100 times better! Not sure about the Active Bass though, never had one of those as a standard fitment - sorry. (Although I have fitted aftermarket ones and improves the overall sound no end).

NB. Always kept the Original though for purposes of resale.
