Blobcat, you obviously don't know how to pack your boot properly!!! :p
Oh I do, but a nearly 3’ square sign would only fit above the boot separator... same with a 43” LED TV, only fits above and it gets a bit noisy (and expensive) if I open the roof then :(

have thought seriously and the fact that the roof doesn't retract into the boot is a deciding point
Somewhere in You Tube land (can't find it now) someone did a Vario roof conversion on a 215 CL. Astonishing bit of engineering it was and it was finished as well. Best of both worlds.

I like too try and fix things myself now, but it just worries me if both coil packs were too fail or for one of those turbos fails you are looking at thousands just for parts! But on fllip side these engines are solid, it may be a car too consider when im a few years older maybe!

Well I hope this changes your mind...

That 600 V12 is a great engine and very reliable. They hardly ever get sung at high revs, simply because they don't need to, so they are usually under used, even at that mileage.

The coil packs are expensive yes, but they hardly go wrong, and they only come apart if people are careless in removing them. I've only ever replaced one set, and that was on a maybach 62s. They are also quite an easy job to do. People just get scared because you have to remove the charge air coolers.

I am sorely tempted by that car, I've always wanted one, and if I had room for it, I would probably go for it. But you should, you won't regret it, you simply might if you don't though...

Also for us working in manufacturing you can order some material from one supplier and then order the exact same spec of material from another supplier and you'd be suprised how much difference it can make when it comes to milling, this could of been a factor too!

understood .i have run into that issue before as well . shot an end mill or 2, on what was allegedly identical material even supplier did not want to believe it .
