Front brake pads change

I am going to change the pads on the front of my 2007 320 cdi estate, it looks like the car has not got the sbc,system fitted,what I need to know can i just change the pads,or do i have disable something first

Youtube is your friend for this try and watch a few.

Nothing to disable if no SBC braking system. Just gently push the old pads backwards into the calipers & ensure the pads are free to move.

just before you push pads back look see that no one has filled brake fluid pot thinking level needs topping. if so use something like old syringe to suck some out, saves b/fluid running about under bonnet.

Get some brake cleaner spray and a small wire brush to give the brake pad channels on the caliper a good clean up . Copper slip as well for the new pad backs and edges .
Maybe a new brake wear sensor as well , especially as they sometimes break when removing .
If your car is same set up as mine , spray some lube all over the front right footwell headlight levelling sensor which is mounted on the suspension spring whilst you have the wheel removed . They rust up otherwise .

Hi,ive looked at a few youtube videos,but it always seems to be with a car sbc braking system

Hi many thanks for that,i have googled and youtubed the matter,but i have not seen anyone doing a video on my model of merc.

By and large, brakes are brakes. It's the same idea whether the car is a Merc, Ford Vauxhall etc etc

Me neither until mine rusted and failed the mot buddy . The rear self leveller for headlights is over the rear differential on the anti roll bar .

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- ford kuga 65 plate awd powershift .
Just change them.
