I had to open the car up again and remove the engine cover buddy , but as its you thats ok . They are back right of the engine , right of the turbo cover .

Oops, sorry for the extra work sir, much appreciated. I can go and have a look at mine and at least I'll have a good idea what I'm looking for now. Thanks again!

The back pressure sensor has a small washer below it , dont drop it . You need a 24mm deep socket to remove the sensor .
The egr can be difficult to remove first time . There are 2 nuts to remove , maybe spray some wd into the metal joint of the egr first , then i use an old chisel very gently to tap into this gap (very soft metal) once a tiny gap is created i use a wide bladed screw driver to lever it up and out gently .

Quick half hour this afternoon , just whipped out the egr valve and back pressure sensor (om642) for a quick spray clean with carb spray , i do it yearly so there is never much soot on them .
(Before and after pics )

I had a look at mine, your picture helped a lot sir.

Grrr, why do they use these stupid torx head bolts? It makes things damned awkward to work on and they shear so easily too.:eek:
I'd almost rather that they used allen cap screws instead, and they can be bad enough at the best of times

Whatever's wrong with using standard hex headed bolts? That's what I want to know. Is it just to try to get you to bring the car back to the stealers to get work done do you think? Or perhaps, to make you buy more special tools?

You can use a small 8mm 1/4 drive on some with limited access, much smaller than an Exx 3/8 socket.

Drove my nephew and his mate to Santa pod, where we had our ears blown off by the rocket dragster!

Mrs LK was very lucky... She lost the other key so it's our only one till she replaces it. If she'd knackered this one as well I'd have been somewhat annoyed....

You make 'being somewhat annoyed' sound like a dangerous thing. That doesn't work in my household...unless of course, the boot's on the other foot.

That's either a very long song or a very short commute

Lol it depends how quick I can cover 11miles...
To tell the truth, I listened to other tracks too...I quite like the birdie song to drive to, but I get funny looks at the traffic lights, flapping my elbows...other motorists have no sense of fun...o_O

Am I the first to think that neither of those cars look particularly dated in styling?
Funnily enough I think the 129 looks remarkably modern (until I park it next to the 230 when it suddenly looks very dated).
For a 30 year old car they do look fabulous (though mines only 26 years old).

Nope, they both look damn good for their age, little like some people that seem to get distinguished with age.

They are a tribute to how much Alistair puts into them
