I just had trouble starting my SL500.
It gets used daily and was parked up for about 9 hours.
First attempt, briefly cranked over (split second) and died.
Second attempt, it started and immediately died.
Third attempt, nothing and the radio did a reset.
Fourth attempt, started fine and was fine for my 10 mile drive.

Is this likely to be as simple as a battery needed? Or does the fact it started and died mean something else?

Any help appreciated.

When you say used daily how long do you drive for and is it longer runs?
Personally I’d give your batteries a good charge and see how it is, Mercedes of that era do some very odd things when the battery is getting low.
Welcome btw

Hi and things welcome.
First things first.
How old is the battery?
Have had codes read?
Are battery terminals clean and tight?
Is the battery earth lead tight to clean bodywork?
