I'd be looking in the same location as petrol variants. Good probability it will be in the same place (and Alex said it was too).

Good to hear , and good DIY fix buddy . I'm thinking of doing mine as the car is 10 years old as they are low as £30 . Did you need to remove an air filter for access from the top ?

Yes took the air filter off on the passenger side , it's a bit awkward to find but if you trace the wire it's easy to find , the best way to do it I found was to lay over the engine put one hand down the back end and one down the side,I used a ratchet with no extension, the only bit of advice I'd probably give is try to find a thin wall inverted 8 torx as the one I used was a bit to wide so only caught the top of the bolt and I was a bit nervous of stripping it.

To be honest past there it was a really really easy repair

But would also like to say thanks guys for all the help it's been invaluable , I'd have been stuck without it, it took a 250 quid repair down to 30 and that was just the price of the part

I only did it as I work up and down the country and it was getting worse, there nothing more annoying than having to add 2 hours onto of your journey because you need to stop 4 times to pee and the car wont start for half an hour until its cooled down lol

Good result.
If they don't want to come out they can be a real swine but if the cone out it's a very easy job. I've done them on my Smart and our E class (exactly the same part!) and in both cases it was very easy.
