Enjoyed it for what it is, some funny moments, it is an entertainment show not a real car show anymore

Think thats the point JB summed up well. It’s not been a real car show since....well I can’t remember !
Fifth gear to me was better just that I couldn’t stand Tiff Needell (balanced by VBH though! )
I’ll watch if there’s nothing better on (and Sundays are like that now), wife strangely enjoyed it and actually commented she likes the Maclaren (she may regret that at some point )

It is what it is, I thought the 3 of them jelled well and had fun. I like the long trips, something I have done by driving to Mongolia and across India in a TukTuk, very special experiences

SWMBO said she preferred the McLaren to the Ferrari but then said if it was a White Porsche 911 GT3 RS it would be even better!!!!

That is what we say every time though and it still ends up crap I wonder what would have happened if JC had been dealt with differently, would Top Gear be as popular as it used to be or will it have run it's course and died just like it has now

I doubt I'll be watching again. It's the format that annoys me now.

You'd have thought that with Clarkson and co leaving, they had an opportunity to make it into a new show.
But no, they have flogged this format to death and its no longer funny.
And Clarkson and Co did it far far better.

There just wasn’t much motoring content on last night's show. We had The Ferrari v McLaren piece from Harris (which was OK but not his best work IMHO), a little bit on the original Mini, Mk2 Escort and the Boxter and a couple of shots of nice looking driving roads in Ethiopia. That can’t have added up to more than 15 minutes so the other 45 minutes was just wasted time.

well whilst what appeared to be the talent, left to go to amazon, it actually turns out if you rolled up all the best bits from 3 series on prime it wouldn't match half an hour of even the most average top gear episode... so needing my motoring fix and spotting the post alerting me to the new series I gave it a go

come 20:00 last night I found one celebrity idiot, a twat from ITV late night drivel and one bloke who can almost drive I thought, should I turn it off.... but it turns out was excellent and the idiots grow on you. Almost a classic TG episode straight out the box !!! and clearly what amazon should have been delivering

As long as the BBC executives are happy,decent viewing figures are obtained, it will run and run whatever format its in.

Agreed, FF a bit stilted to start with but it was watchable. The banter was a bit staged but it's still new so might develop over the series.

They need time to mature just as Clarkson and Co did, good luck to them.

Its not cerebral its just entertainment with cars.

Serious car programmes just don't get the viewing numbers.

It and the Grand Tour have been programmes I could share with the youth throughout his growing up, for that I congratulate them.
