I think Autocar got less than 15mpg from the one they tested. I think I posted a link to the article in a previous thread.
It was Car - https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/mercedes-benz/mercedes-r63-amg-2006-review/I could live with that
With my mortgage and bills I would cry if owned a car that returned that.I think Autocar got less than 15mpg from the one they tested. I think I posted a link to the article in a previous thread.
I DID swap an E class estate for one. Much, much more comfortable, easier for the kids, nicer driving position but definitely heavier and more sluggish.I have had an R320CDI as a courtesy car a couple of times (from Stevensons in Maidstone - he tows his son's race car with it) and I wouldn't swap an E-class estate for one, tbh, unless I really had to have the extra seats.
More comfortable? Well, you will have spent more time in an R than me, so I will bow to your superior experience on that. I found the ponderous handling of the R quite unsettling though, on my brief experiences.I DID swap an E class estate for one. The chances of spotting one are pretty remote. Last time I looked there were 7 on the road in the UK. I'd be tempted to buy, but virtually impossible to find. Got to be the rarest AMG out there. Lucky to see one then!

But then, I don't like SUVs either...
No and it doesn’t. But in absolute terms it’s not that bad, handling wise it’s way more pleasant than the X Trail we had before the W211. We needed to fit 2 adults and 3 child car seats in as well as a decent boot space, so.......you can't expect a 2.2 tonne barge to handle like a GTi
Completely agree. When in "sport" it wasn't too bad at all.No and it doesn’t. But in absolute terms it’s not that bad, handling wise it’s way more pleasant than the X Trail we had before the W211. We needed to fit 2 adults and 3 child car seats in as well as a decent boot space, so.......
Exactly that. I loved our 211, the handling and responsiveness was superb, but my Mrs disliked it. She absolutely loves the 251 though, and to me it’s a big, handsome but none-too-sharp car. Still fitted with Roadsharks though!Yes, it's all about which compromise is right for you, isn't it? We don't have children, just two dogs, so an estate car is perfect for us. I went in a friend's Cayenne the other day and didn't like the ride in that either...
As Keefy says. So called because they have little pictures of sharks on them.? Roadsharks?
