However I have been advised that I need to re-seat all my injector holes before re installing the injectors. The attached photos show the current condition of my holes (all numbered for clarity). Can someone please advise whether these need anything more doing to them? I do not mind doing the re seating myself however funds are limited so a reasonable cheap re seating kit will be all I will get because unless I offer to help other Mercedes owners with this problem, I will not have any use for the kit after I have used it.
Oh and suffice to say, the cleanest injector shown was the one that was stuck solid in it's hole and had the worst carbon deposits around it.
UPDATE- @10:28, Just took more photos with my digital SLR. Not brilliant still but slightly better. Will borrow my girlfriend's Samsung phone next.

UPDATE - @11:02, What is it with Samsung cameras on phones?!! Why are they far superior than iPhones or even my Digital Canon EOS500D?!!! New set of photos attached.

They are cleaner than the ones on my C220 and that's running fine now, so I would say yes. I didn't re seat mine, the looked pretty smooth.

If you have a look on eBay and search there are a number of injector seat re-cutting sets. If you do go that route be careful and don’t take too much off.

Others on here have used some fine grade sand paper on a length of wooden dowel.

Part of the tool uses the injector hole as a guild so you can’t block it off! Hence the reason I advised you use the grease method!

+1 for the grease dab on the cutting face.
I use a Henry with reducing size of hose / piping taped to the vacuum hose to get down there and suck out any left over debris.
Then, I photograph the cut face like you do, but after cleaning any left over grease that would disguise the finish.

Or use a plugging device and hoover out any debris apparently.

The Amazon kit seems to show a part that stops any debris going into the cylinder head. So it wasn't me saying that it was the kit contents and the video I watched. Sorry.

When I did an injector on my om642 I used the above to clean the injector nozzle hole out, its a perfect fit and is very well made and the bristles will not fall Out.
The bristles are nylon and have very little give in them, you pull this across your skin and it will graze you very badly.
Don't let the buying price of £1 put you off.

Bit late to the party but I would also say not clean enough. I didn't cut mine but MBS have probably done 100's of these compared to the 6 on my old car so I would take their advice.

Its not for cleaning the seat , its used to push through and clean carbon build up out where the injector tip sits. You still need your seat cutting kit
