wheel cleaner suggestions

Hi

Other half's wheels have some stubborn stains that I can't get off. Looks to be ingrained brake dust. Can anyone suggest a decent wheel cleaner that isn't so intrusive that it will cause long term damage to the wheel finish? TIA

I would try an acid based cleaner like Wonder wheels , used sparingly and rarely . I probably use it every year when I clean up my wheels and just use shampoo and water in between

I wouldn't... I would take it to an IMO/ARC car wash - the wheel cleaner they used (made by autoglym) is very good and doesn't damage your wheels. Just need to pick "Wash 1" and you'll get nice clean wheels.

Any reputable brand at Halfrauds should do the job.

I do love Bilt Hamber products, their clay and "double speed" wax are excellent

i recommend the bilt hamber auto wheel above all of the other 'purple reaction' ones i've tried from a number of suppliers.

Avoid the 'Pro-Kleen Dragon's Blood Extreme' £30ish for 5l from amazon sounds a good deal, but its very weak compared to the bilt hamber/ auto finesse / dragons breath. The bilt hamber offers the best value for money. Jetwash/sponge wheels to remove most of the contamination then a coat of bilt hamber once dry works wonders. I also use it as a clay lube on the paintwork!

Booker do excellent 1l heavy duty squirty bottles for 79p.. i have a box full.. they seem to withstand just about every corrosive/reactive chemical ive put in them over the years!!

I opened a similar thread on the other forum and Bilt Hamber was recommended multiple times. Haven't used it yet due to the crappy weather we've had.

Sonax is a good product, I have used Kenotek Wheel Cleaner Ultra for about 3 years myself, doesnt smell bad, safe on all alloys and really does work very well. My Range Rover produces a heck of a lot of brake dust but wheels sparkle.
