Hi all, I have a clk 320 year 2007. Having a few issues which are pointing towards swirl flaps on bank 1. I have spent hours searching the net for a guide to removing the intake manifold but cannot find anything to help for this engine. Could anyone please help?

Many thanks in advance

Not a job for a novice Shaun, we get a load of these jobs from other garages, what fault codes are you getting?

Iv done basic jobs but thought it may be a bit of a big job for me. Codes I am getting are:

P2015: Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor / Switch Circuit Range Perf Bank 1
P0130: 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1)
P0135: Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1)

That could just be an inlet port shut off motor fault. Best thing to do is remove the fuel filter and see if you can see any snappage in the arms or wear on the pivots to the swirl flaps.

But as Cole said, its a bitty job, everything must be cleaned and seals replaced properly. It takes us a good 6 hours to complete and we know them inside out.
