Replacing runflats

Hi everybody. I am new here ,just quick q about replacing my runflats tyres.can I replace them for standard tyres in my E250cdi amg line 2013?

Yes you can - just keep the correct size and loading

As above , yes you can , I noticed a big ride improvement years ago when I changed them on a BMW Z4 .

You may need to make different puncture arrangements , if you don't have a spare wheel (because run flats are fitted ?)

You'll lose grip because your tyres are worn out or because you're giving it too much throttle or brake not because you haven't fitted runflats.

As long as you match the sizes and loading you will be fine - grip isn't decided because they're run-flats or not

If you fit tyres with the next load rating above the runflats already fitted you will be ok, this will compensate for the softer sidewall of non runflats on the same rating

Sorry for misunderstanding,I meant the suspension is set to be more soft when runflats fitted,so when you fit standard tyres it will not affected driving,mean car will be like a boat on waves?

That’s why I suggested you bought tyres with a higher load rating ie, the sidewalls are stiffer. I agree if you bought non runflats with the same load index as you say the sidewalls would be too soft for the suspension

Even with softer sidewalls it won't be like a boat on the waves. You may even find that being more compliant it will have better grip too.
A common misconception is stiffer = faster.

Looking at the parts catalog there is no distinction between springs or dampers with or without runflats.

IIRC .... cars with run flats are required to have some kind of TPMS

You should buy exactly the same spec tyre, the non run flat will give a much smoother ride (ask any Mini owner that has swapped), the whole idea of using normal tyres is to improve the ride as run flats tend to ruin it
