BRAKE CALIPER UPGRADE CLK 55 to CLK63

Hi all, bit of an odd one here, my partner has just bought a lovely CLK55 as she has been driving mine for a little while so finally she has bought one however she wants to upgrade the calipers to either whats on my CLK63 or any 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears but this is something well beyond me skill set so I am asking for help and advise. I can see what she want and why she want to change hers to my style but is it as simple as changing calipers and pads. She has £1000 to spend, her CLK is a 2004 but its really is a darling with only 56000 miles however, she will not put caliper covers on and rightly so, just in case someone suggests, her car has a lovely set of 5 spoke alloys the ones mine originally had so the calipers are really on show. I have explained the brake improvement wont be huge but she really wants to change them and after many years of watching me spend fortunes on cars and upgrades I cannot say a lot really so any help would be extremely welcomed or even what calipers she/we need to look for. Thanks kindly for any advice you guys can give.

i don't they would just bolt on and after market kits will probably be more than a grand

Her budget is nowhere near enough to upgrade front and rear calipers to 63 ones.

I believe the front calipers alone are over £400 each! plus pads and the discs will be bigger too so that is to be budgeted as well.
Finally, the caliper mounting bolts may well be in a slightly different position and make the whole job an expensive failure.

I would advise her to have the existing calipers refurbished and sprayed to a colour of her choice by a brake specialist. The ones she has are perfectly adequate to stop the car

To be fair I should of stated she is looking at some used calipers on ebay, an example was for C63 full sent of used calipers and discs for £1000 or best offer but thanks for your answer.

Problem being is you have to be sure of the exact hangers will match, and as Rodger said the wheels will also need changing, the 55 callipers are already extremely close so just something else to think about, the C63 certainly won’t fit though,

Yup, send them to "Big Red" and have them refurbished or spend a few hours and do them yourself, very easy to do

Just paint them and tell her you changed them.

Thanks for all I think Ive convinced her to have them powder coated and painted and new AMG decal been quoted £390 which is a great price considering all the work with caliper as they need totally taken apart. all the work done then resembled. I will get some before and after pics. Once again chaps many thanks.

You could paint them yourself for £20
