Parking fine help

Stayed in Manchester last week , payed 10 quid for 24hr parking , got back to my car the following afternoon to find a parking ticket fr not being in the bay correctly, i have disputed this as the car park was flooded and the bay in question was not clearly marked, i have tried to find info on the net specifically to parking bay markings and how they are enforced but not had much luck , any help much appreciated

First step would be to demand a photograph of your vehicle showing the infringement.

Also take pics of the signage and see if it mentions about parking it bays and what the penalty is. If there's no mention there's no infringement. If it was a council run carpark rules are different to a private enforced one too. Determine which it is.

You should post your query on a BMW owners forum - I expect they've much more experience of parking infringements

Thanks so far guys , i live 2 hours away from where this happened so its not possible to take further pictures ( unless a member in the northern quater would be willing ) its a privately run car park , SIP is the company in question, they appear to be more professional than others ive read about , i will defo demand a picture of the alleged offence which if they cannot provide they will be told to shove it in the politest terms possible

are you ? that would be great there are 2 CP in the same spot pal , ones an NCP the other is this SIP outfit so its Port st & Tarrif st respectively

Npc car parking used to run carlisle hospital plcar Park. I had 4 tickets from them at one point. Ask me if I paid any???? Blood sucking leaches

Unbelievable, I got a final warning to pay this fine at a reduced amount 14 months after it didnt happen !

I take it they never provided you with a photograph then?
I would have thought this should have been sent with the original demand because it is absolutely critical to prove you committed the alleged offence.

They are really struggling now, just ignore them.
Traffic offences have a 6 months limitation of proceedings. This is civil law which I am not up on.

That is how I used to think. However since seeing ‘Can’t Pay Won’t Pay’ on the box some of those people obviously thought in a similar way and have ended up with huge bills, I mean in the thousands. So maybe not a such good idea after all

Ive had 3 private car parks in the past try and take me for a ride with fines.

I've challenged every one of them and never paid a penny in fines or recourse. Only one threatened to take me to court, which I agreed them to try, then I never heard from them.

Council ones you can't get out of as they usually are so by the book its worth paying the cheaper penalty and having a Basil Fawlty moment.
