I was wondering if anyone has installed a light up Emblem on their Merc?

I have a 2008 CLC 180k and I've seen a few light up stars on sale on EBAY varying from £24 from Chinese sellers to £50 from UK sellers.

Alot of them just say a generic "fits Mercedes 2005-2011" and I've read up on several wiring methods, one where you connect one wire to earth and another to the headlights so the star only lights yo when your headlights are turned on and another where you wire directly into the fuse box.

I had a Wolseley once, years ago, where the little badge on the radiator lit up in the dark.
I remember thinking at the time that it was a useless gimmick.

I have fitted one for a customer on a GLA.

Ground to ground, power to sidelight wire.

I never ended up doing it, was just curious about if it Wii or look nice.

To be fair I've seen it on much newer Mercs where it looks amazing lit up at night, but wouldn't make sense on my 11 year old Clc.

I vividly remember one evening in 1975 a car roared past me at very high speed. As my Wolsey 1100 rocked slightly I gasped aloud, 'What the **** was that?' The driver must have touched his brakes at that moment, as the back of his car lit up with the word, 'Porche.' I was impressed.

I'm no longer 20 and would no longer be so easily impressed. Brand lighting still cuts a dash in some quarters, I'm sure.
