How to change the language in Mercedes A class?

I just rented Mercedes A Class 180D in Spain and it has French as a system language. All messages on the screen and voice in maps are in French.

How can I change the language? Looked through all the menus and didn't find anything relevant.

Without having the detail of the car in front of me, this or a variation of it might work:

look for the STAR button <*> and in that menu, hopefully you should see various basic settings, one of which will be something like <langue>. From within that menu, look for <anglaise>.

Or....find somebody that knows French!

ernieh, this is a new car used only for 6000 km so I guess it's 2019 or 2018 model. Haven't seen any * on the screens. The car has two modern screens. My first idea was that language should be in profile but there was nothing similar.

mioba, if you have any guesses on the topic they will be highly appreciated.

Can't you ask the rental company - they might get this asked a lot?

Try this

Press the

button.
or

Press Vehicle in the main function bar.

• The vehicle menu appears.

To switch to the menu bar: slide

the controller.

To select System settings : turn and press the controller.

• A menu appears.

To select Language : turn and press the controller.

• The list of languages appears. The
  
  dot indicates the current setting.

Select the desired language.

• The multimedia system loads the selected language and sets it.

I managed to switch to English right after the start of the car: when the system asked me to select a profile, there was language button in the low left corner.

After I switched to English I found the place in the menu: System (picture of the car) - Settings - Language

Also, one more small question - what does a button with A in a circle arrow located below start button mean?
