Additive?

Only thing in the gearbox (assuming it’s auto) should be ATF

Why do you want to add an additive?

I don't know if I would be putting anything into an auto transmission, except ATF...I'd be looking for some other cause for the shudder.

This is an odd one , it reads like the OP knows what the issue is and what can fix it but needs our advice to administer?
I'd say that he is s bit confused bembo449.....sounds like "some body told him that the shudder fix will cure his problems , as it cured his"... you know the story....." My friend's mate whose 1st cousin is a mechanic, told him how to fix it"

Sounds like a bad TC lockup clutch.
That stuff won't help.
Could even be bad engine mounts.
That stuff still won't help.

I'm willing to bet money that if someone professionally marketed a concoction as a cure-all for all car related ailments called "Snake Oil" it would sell

I don’t think you’ll find many (any) members on here that would recommend what you want to do. It’s not a fix for gearbox problems it’s a mask.

If you’re doing it to hopefully keep your car going as funds are tight then I understand. It won’t fix anything though. If you want to add it to mask a fault before selling then that is another thing entirely.

I’d recommend posting up what problems you have with your car and then members can advise on a solution.

I have a shudder when setting off

It only happens when she’s cold.
This treatment was given to me by a gearbox specialist and has said to me that it should eliminate the problem.

I’ve read that this COULD be a converter but I rarely use the car and it’s probably going to be expensive to have replaced.

My thinking as a plant mechanic is to get this additive in the gearbox to see how it goes.

If it makes no difference then so be it.

There are plenty of reviews and YouTube videos with positive feedback and I’ve not heard or read any horror stories as of yet!

Regards
