I wish to lubricate the various linkages that form the throttle control on my M104, having realised no benefit at all from replacing the throttle cable.

I read that I should use ATF in the ball sockets and the pivots.... just wondering whether power steering fluid would be the same, as I have some of that.... or whether I should get hold of ATF anyway...? ... or is there something more appropriate, such as moly grease in the ball joints?

when there is a clip holding the ball i use a small amount of grease ,when not if the cable goes down and away ,a little 3 in 1 if up nothing, its a compromise between lube and attracting dirt/grime and making a grinding paste.
