Hi all, hope everyone is well, not been around for a while, busy work and home life!!!

While I was accelerating off a roundabout I put my foot down. All that happened was the revs red lined and the car didn't accelerate. This happened once before, I think it was last year. No warning lights at all, then drove fine after that. I was in S mode.
Also, last wee the before the engine had warmed up I was driving at slow traffic speeds when the car jumped a little, as if the fuel was cutting out. Then after it was ok again, no problems once at operating temperatures.

You haven't been putting Kangaroo juice in the car have you? As my Father used to enquire while teaching me to drive when my clutch control was still in a development phase? :D

Potentially the gearbox is low on fluid.

My 722.9 7G+ box doesn't have a dipstick but The icarsoft MB V 2.0 has a function to read the ATF level, unfortunately when I used it last it returned the ATF Temperature, I wrote to icarsoft and reported the anomaly but heard nothing back, I'll look again tomorrow and see if there are any changes because there have been several updates since?

Looked again this morning and it's still the same, reading temperature not level :(

Hi, if levels were low would this affect day to day driving? It's been fine since.

It's just one of a number of possibilities. Probably fine, but a check would narrow the search and give you peace of mind.

I suspect its a typo. Only way to measure the level is open sump plug with engine running on level ground.

Thank you Alex, you're like a Sat-Nav to those unsure of direction on this Forum with your confident matter-of-fact statements, much appreciated.
This is the first time I've picked up the requirement to have the engine running while checking/filling the ATF in a 722.9 Automatic Gearbox, after all the YT video's I've watched and articles I've read, I was aware of the need to cycle the gears and raise the oil temperature but so many video's and articles with final top-up's done with engine stopped!
I recall reading @Wighty's ATF change article and thinking it was unusual but would ensure to get max possible fluid in the box as you would be topping up while the fluid is distributed throughout the Box, TC and Heat Exchanger, so the engine running is really quite important, especially when checking at a later date, otherwise you would lose all that additional fluid in the belief it had been overfilled previously?

hehe you are welcome. Its the same as the 722.6 in that aspect, the level drops when running, so it will show artificially high if the engine is stopped. Same with the 722.9, except you will lose the additional fluid when running.

That 7g ATF change feels like ages ago now , and it's all still working so I must have done some of it right :D
