Also, a second set of alloy wheels with winter tyres is best in my experience

That's why I got them winter tyre thingies on the alloys already

I was also informed that, if these are stored on of these (somewhat flimsy, before copious amounts of JB Weld were applied, top extended 8" and silicone tape wrapped around it) contraptions, they get twice as much grip in snow and whisper you next week's lotto numbers via bluetooth ... o_O

If I bring it into the house, I might be banished myself ... so, would a corner of an old shed, as a glamorous backdrop, be to kind sir's liking instead? o_O

That's an OK substitute I think :D . Don't want to get you thrown out the house over a set of winters !

Well, here it is - didn't get to actually swap the wheels today, but removed the cover and took a couple of pics ...

I'm going to put an extra layer of silicone tape on top, for a better grip, and to cover JB Weld joint (that's the extended part), and will paint the other two places where I used JB Weld to fix bits together properly. It is still a bit wobbly, but so much better, than what I had out of the box.

Thanks chaps! :)

It works well for a limited space of a small shed and no garage situation I have here ...

The extended pole now allows me to store my summer 225/40-18 tyres (205/55-16 pictured) and be able to grab the thing when moving - how on earth its designers expected it to work with the top of the original pole being lower, than the alloy face? o_O

Well, it's done now :)

Started rather late and finished when it was dark ... didn't have time nor energy to remove the centre caps, to put the wheels on the storage trolley ... tomorrow
