Well I never knew a mid range A class had a list of 26k (or 30k if you want an auto)! Having been a passenger in one I really can't see how it justifies anything over 20k for a mid range Focus, which is bigger and nicer in every way. No wonder they're discounting them...

The Focus Active lists at £21-25K too. I don't know if anyone actually pays that of course...

Yes, but they're a segment up in size, nicer to ride in, nicer handling, nicer to look at outside, etc, and have all the same technology and as you say, the higher up ones are discounted 5kish all the time, not just on some deal.

I suppose no-one really buys any of them anyway and it's all through lease so maybe the a class is more competitive here. I just thought the A class was a supposedly slightlier posher almost fiesta sized car so am surprised they command so much. I won't even ask what a new c class costs, i'd probably be surprised by that too...

I couldn't bring myself to buy a current A-Class either, tbh. A lot of money for a car that feels claustrophobic inside to me - small windows, black trim, elbows of the driver and passenger almost touching...

Bear in mind that due to the W223 coming soon, MB are currently giving a £20k deposit contribution in the S Class, so it's actually only £11k off or 12% odd which is about right. Still if you want a W222, it's a good time to buy one! Sadly they don't seem to offer such good deals on the Grand Edition which is a much nicer trim level.
