Hi all

Looking at 114/115 values, they seem to have dropped low, and remained low. Especially in comparison to W123's of the same condition.

There is one for £4,450 with 50k miles in red, interior looks a bit of a bodge job, but otherwise is good condition. Assuming the mileage is genuine it seems cheap?

Others are similar as well. Am I missing something?

The coupe would surely be more money...

I would suggest that spare parts both body and mechanical are becoming increasingly difficult to source with the passage of time. Its also becoming more difficult to find [still working] mechanics who are familiar with the techology of that time- the obvious areas would be the ability to tune / adjust / repair the twin carburettors and problematic Jetronic D Injection systems?? Not insurmountable problems but enough perhaps to to take the gloss off the ownership experience?

They are, but not as big a gap between them as the w123/c123
And I had a quick look and couldn't see any at the price you mention!! (We are not in the market, I hasten to add...)

Doesn't the W123 have the reputation as being the most reliable car ever made, atleast in 240d manual form? Still plenty of parts as there's so many of them left which maybe is why they're sought after.

That said I'm going to be looking at something as a second car to work on soon. If I could find a W114 coupe rust free (easier out here) for less than a W123 I'd go for the older one. I presume it isn't too complicated/difficult to keep one running/working on? Did they have a diesel option?
