W204 C220 5G Gearbox Issues

Well, you have calmed my nerves! I had lift back to the hotel this evening in an ancient w124 taxi which I chose over the fleet of brand new e's lined. Battered and creaky. Girlfriend doesn't get my fascination with those old things and wasn't as impressed.

Now searching eBay for nice one....

So the damage is...

1. Needs new gearbox mount. Apparently it's so deteriorated it's coming into contact with the subframe.
2. Needs 2 new engine mounts.
3. Number 2 injector needs seal repair
4. Gearbox oil/filter needs changing as it's on its original stuff.

£877 total to fix. Somehow don't think that's to bad?

That's a reasonable cost for that work IMO....unless you're dong it yourself that's not bad at all

Now it all hinges on whether the injector comes out easily or not. Some slide smoothly out, others are a pig.

Update:

Some improvement noticed after the engine and transmission mounts changed/fluid changed.

Took the car for a good run today and the vibration at 65+ mph is still there on the motorway.

Definitely feels like it's coming through the car. Again, done some more research and this appears to be common on mercs. But as for the causes I'm unsure how to approach. Previous owner fitted some awful cheap tyres but they are brand new. Pressures are correct. I sense that this is going to turn into wild goose chase now.

Hello gays I have one problem with my Mercedes 3 days ago all the light on dashboard was turned on abs asp run flat tyre and etc and the main problem is when I put the gear from parking to drive I file like something hit me on the back some press before star to drive it’s not going smoothly and my mechanic he said that it’s not possible to connect on the computer because on OBD connector was 6w not 12w I don’t know if it’s try or not because I don’t know anything about Mercedes
P.s I have Mercedes C220 w204 2010 automatic with 62000 mileage

My first check would be to get the wheels balanced, also check all the bushes on the control arms

The mechanic gay hi tell me that I have a problem with canbus system it’s down and must to make to check everything to see what it’s the problem but that mean a lot of money....

As I said, I don't know either garage, I don't live anywhere near Tamworth. I used Google to give me an idea of garages with a good review.

Hope the salutation was a typo!

... and your mechanic should find another job! Utter rot to suggest that your 2010 Merc will not connect to its Obd port, because of some imagined incompatibility. Go find a truthful and experienced mechanic, and avoid this one.
