If you've never experienced it, then you are missing out

That could be true as ive never been in a Porsche, but have you ever experienced the silky smooth mind blowing dramaless acceleration of a tesla? It was that very thing that in a few seconds instantly converted me from powerfull ice cars to the faster acceleration of electric !

It could be a mindset where people equate noise to power, ie the boy racers with their huge noisy exhaust, its really noisy so it must be more powerfull? This is probably more prevalent with motorbikes and aftermarket exhaust and virtually every owner claiming its faster when in reality its just a lot louder.
The hard part for many to accept seems to be crazy acceleration without any noise.

The trouble with corners is that they also have other cars going round them, so going all out is not that easy in this day and age.
But then its not fair comparing a four door family saloons handling to a sports car , even if the family saloon is the quickest thing in the traffic light drag race?
The lotus evija should be out next year. Im pretty sure based on lotus handling that this machine will shatter many track records, oh and its electric, getting to around 186 mph in under 9 secs.
Would that be a fair comparison ? lol...

Depends on how long the track is...

Saw a very unhappy Tesla at the Nurburgring, he didn’t make a full lap (and not because he crashed (normal reason for not completing a lap)) I did 4 laps in my 911 then drove to the ferry and drove home. :D:p

All mainstream car manufacturers and even the more "specialist" are embracing electric cars. So it looks like that's where we are all going to end up. That saddens me, but like everyone else, I'll have to conform :(
My office overlooks the Isle Of Wight ferry terminal in Portsmouth. Their much heralded "hybrid ferry" is a strange thing. It runs on electric battery power. but it can only do this if the diesel generators are running to charge the batteries - sounds like a diesel ferry to me - but I guess there are subsidies for "green power" ferries. :)

it has “HYBRID” painted on the side in huge letters so it’s saving the environment...

Seems to pump out the same as the other MFO ferries though...

There are fully electric ferries with inductive charging for short runs. I expect IOW to adopt sooner or later.

Ice cars have had 100 yrs to get to where they are now.
The Electric car is still in its infancy yet already is faster than any ice engine around the Nürburgring and up Pikes Peak.
The electric will soon dominate virtually every race, leaving the ice to have their own "vintage" races ?
All it needs is a longer lasting power source (which im sure is only just around the corner) and then what of the ice car?

As an owner of a petrol drinking Mercedes V8, I couldn't give a **** about electric cars.
Sure, they are the inevitable future, but I'm going to embrace what we have right now.

Electric cars were around in the early 1900s....
Yep I have a piccie somewhere of my Godmother age about 5 standing in front of her dad's electric car somewhere in Bolton in the mid 1900's. Her dad also had a petrol car at the same time which I also have a piccie of reg BN 6.
