Bit off topic from all the others but just taking time to appreciate my old Benz and how great she has been!
My partners Grandmother who is only 70 has severe cancer, which started off as breast and also has been living with liver cancer for the past year things have taken a turn for the worst now as it has spread to her bones.
She is no longer having chemotherapy because she is too weak, she will be having palliative care now.
Her being in great yarmouth makes it all the more harder for us being over 152 miles away, ive never known or driven a car that can go 3k miles in a month and still keep running perfectly being not far off 15 years old now! It has never refused to start or get me from A to B, and i can pretty much assure you this car is going to stay for a very long time!
As for cancer side me and my partner are planning to get married in 2021 and instead of wedding gifts we will receive money and 100% of it will be donated to Cancer Research Uk!

Bit off topic but i just felt i wanted to share it!

Having someone close to you going through a bad time helps reorder your priorities, the things that are free are worth the most.
Couldnt be more spot on there!

Sorry to hear of your girlfriend's grandmother's health issues Adam but congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
My own experience of MBs is similar to yours. They just seem to keep on keeping on.

Firstly my commiserations regarding your partners Mum.
Secondly very commendable on the donation thought.

Hit a nerve here, for me at least so

Now, having a granddaughter with a cancer I have looked into a few thinks as have her parents.
The big charities, Cancer Research UK for one have massive overheads and due to this not a lot of money actually gets as far as the labs. Check it out.

Far better to find a smaller charity that will be immensely great full of your donation. Will be able to put the majority of the funds towards doing something and actually help some folk in a difficult situation.
I am not saying that Cancer Research UK does no good, it does. They also have lovely offices and about 5% of donations goes to cancer in children.

I know I am in for a bashing here but am not a fan of big charities that have big outgoings, WWF also have lovely offices, a car park full of nice cars and imho, don’t give a rats ar*e about Pandas.

My S211 is also very dependable, again, but that’s another thread.

My step daughters boyfriend lost his dad to cancer three years ago. We found his mum has cancer a month ago. Don't know much about his mum yet but it's progressed to lymph nodes and she's had 2 removed.

I opted for my W211 over a CLS because it had 3 seats in the back and we needed a taxi for similar journeys for similar reasons but with seating for 5.

Vascular Demetia is a cruel disease, after 8 years the funeral is this Friday.

The best things in life aren't things.

Thats awful sorry to here that! My father had throat cancer about 10 years ago, he had around 50% of his tongue removed! Luckily they were able to get tissue from his arm and create effectively the missing 50% also it was caught early! So its no longer there and has no signs of coming back!
My partner has a few small benign lumps seen by the doctors but after some careful thinking she's going to get them removed! Just cant risk it!

My W211 E270 was superb as a workhorse over the 8+ years I had it. Yours will serve you well and will be a calming place to be on your journeys of hope you face.

Yes cancer is sh1te. Lost my dad aged 55 to it, 5 years later my twin brother contracted the same, but is now a 26 year survivor. Mum has survived breast cancer, heart attack and is running around again at nearly 87. In fact, earlier today her neighbour said she was inspirational the way she is so independent.

When we got married, we just went and did it. Wifes best friend booked the registry office, then texted wife to tell me it was booked. Just us with daughter and witnesses. As we wanted it, no wasted expense and a great day. In laws wanted to be there, we didn't want them, so didn't have them. We lost FiL in 2017, MiL still goes on about not being at our wedding, we still tell her we didn't want her there, it'll sink in at some point. BiL did the same on his 3rd wedding. Lots of friends say they wish they could, they can, just do it :geek::rolleyes::D:shock:

I do wish a particularly painful death on my brothers ex wife who used their daughter as a weapon against him when he contracted cancer. He came home after having bits removed to an empty home, no furniture, no crockery etc, no daughter. She then challenged my late fathers will and lied in court about him. The dead can't defend themselves. So, yes she can die a horrible death and then I'll defecate her grave, as she deserves it. :D:shock::geek::rolleyes:
