Good choice - I have building and contents insurance, plus S204 insurance and breakdown cover, all through LV, only one they're no good for is the 968 cab!

I am with Tesco Insurance and their renewal was also cheaper than the previous years premium. I forget the exact amount but I think it was about £17.00. I stayed with Tesco :)

It seems some of the companies are at last cottoning on to the fact it's cheaper to keep customers than find them.

Yes agree, my house insurance renewal went down by 15% this year I nearly fell off my chair, credit where credit is due to Aviva. Hopefully the penny has dropped and the churn in customers will fall off it makes no sense and is an irritation to consumers

Depends what they’re measured on... one team in new business another on retention

I think the change is due to some insurance companies dropping off the comparison sites which by definition means they have to focus on customer satisfaction and retention

My Aviva car insurance renewal last Month increased by exactly 10% in their renewal offer, after several reminders they called and enquired why I hadn't renewed yet so I explained to them how they had priced themselves out of the market due to their aggressive and unjustified 10% price increase, I ended up with Churchill this Year after they were recommended by two comparison websites, I then input my details into their online quote portal and received an offer £45 cheaper! they were bundling Green Flag Recovery Plus for £60, I went onto the Green Flag portal and the same level of cover was available for £48.

If my insurance quote was less, I would be on the phone to other companies with the new price and get it even lower.
My renewal is more each year, I call my provider, show them I get it cheaper, they always price match. Your current insurer is giving you a wand to bargain with others

Hello all. Sorry but I need to rant - talk about swings and roundabouts... why do I only get horrible swings?

The house insurance (Buildings and Contents) has increased by 13%... Back in 2016 we had a flood caused by a cracked hot water cylinder. LV Insurance were on the ball with repairs and where the ceiling was damaged they simply ripped it all off and replaced it, along with the vinyl board flooring etc. That was our first claim in over 30 years.

I was clobbered with an excess charge of £300 and warned that the policy price would increase - it did by 59%! It's strange the way they exhort you to take cover for the fire/flood you hope will never happen, take your money every year and then strangle you if you are unfortunate to have to make a claim! I was told at the time in a phone call that the higher price would gradually diminish. I stayed with them because the service I got was good and most of all if I have to phone, I always end up talking to an intelligent human "bean". In 2017 they stung me for another 9 percent so I phoned and they reduced it so that overall the price went down 5 percent. In 2018 it went up 5 percent. So now we get to 2019 when the news has been full of "insurance reductions". They added 13%! I called and they flatly refused to negotiate - the guy I spoke with said they had been stopped from doing reductions etc. Unfortunately (my fault) I left it too late to go the Meerkats round because I covered the renewal papers by accident - doh! so I have very grudgingly paid it. They will lose my business next year - not only on this house policy but probably on two cars as well!

  .................Cheaper than last year by over £30 :cool:
I will be staying with LV :D
Which car is this on? Aviva renewal on the SL500 for me was £190 whereas LV wanted over £300 for the exact same cover.

That was the 55 'flow'
We have both cars with them, they must have given me discount for not having a crash yet. :).
It's just luck when you renew whether you get good prices.

I have house, contents and C220 with LV, so they were first port of call for the SLK - bearing in mind I was used to paying £200pa for the 968 (including full EU breakdown and recovery) Got a shock with their quote (close on 3 times what I'd been paying for the 968, and no breakdown/recovery included!!)so started looking around, called Chris Knott, initially they were expensive but then called me back having found an acceptable quote from Highway Insurance - which happens to be a subsidiary of LV! Nowt so strange as car insurance!

Couple of good years with Tesco. 2nd year renewal was lower than previous year and when challenged they dropped it another £17 I think it was because I could get it cheaper elsewhere :)

Just got my Renewal through from Direct Line and they wanted to increase my policy by 261,00 thats almost half again feom my CL203, so you can imagine where I told them to put their insurance..... 761,00 now down to 403,00 by moving to SAGA insurance looks like the big boys are still punishing motorists and paying for those that do not have insurance...

^ Don't hang around. The closer you get to renewal the more expensive it tends to be I have found,

Got my house renewal through, (Due January) from AA
same every year it's gone up
(As does my AA breakdown)
Last year £105 this year £137
so onto confused got a quote for £90 so back onto AA, yep you've guessed it, they matched it, so why do it in the 1st place, actually I do know, they are banking on the gullible, that to me is a bit naughty.
