Mystery symbol on dash

Enjoyuing my 2018 W213, understand most of it after 4 months but this icon (top line, above presets) baffles me. Any Ideas?

That looks like the symbol you get when you have a destination loaded in navigation?

my guess would be the gps has a location on your vehicle?

Hi Blimp, thanks for your suggestion, I deleted all stored destinations, symbol still there.
Hi Rappey, I tried looking at start up and the symbol appears very quickly. I,ll try starting under a bridge to see if it doesnt show. I did wade through the GPS instruction but cant see that symbol anywhere.

Thanks Blimp, thats the first time I,ve seen that icon referred to anywhere. I,m not using Mercedes Me, I decided I didnt really need all that it offered, maybe the previous owner did! I did try Googling it but how do you say "car with plectrum shape blob beside it" Again, thanks All Peter

It also reduces male virility and that can only be restored by building some flat pack furniture without looking at the instructions

It's the user profile indicator, showing you are using profile 1. You can create and save profiles in the COMAND system (under Vehicle IIRC, bit could be under System)

On mine, Mercedes Me connection is shown by the car symbol with blue radio waves above it, not what the OP has.

that symbol simply means you have location services enabled (so you can see exactly where your car is, using mercedes ME, assuming of course that your GPS doesn't go tit's up like mine did). Once your 2 year free subscription to that service runs out, it will disappear from your screen, and you'll have the option to pay MB ca$h for adding it back. I didn't bother, yet, but i did pay for some subscription services (like remote parking, love that !)

Thanks Anyweb and all others. Seems like location services enabled is the reason for the icon on the dash. As I dont use a smartphone and I dont really need Mercedes Me service I think I,ll just ignore the icon!
