Hi I've got a C220 CDI 2000 model auto and its not changing from 1st into 2nd any ideas greatly appreciated.

I don't know I've only had it just under a year.

It's not I put it into drive so goes into 1st but won't go up into any other gears apart from reverse.

Bit odd, should start in 2nd apart from sports mode.
Could be a TCU issue, what’s the mileage ?

They were “sealed for life” problem Mercedes found is that “life” came within the 3 year warranty period... so they changed to recommending changes. For your 5G box every 37k miles is recommended. How many miles has the car covered?

You need to get it to an indie to get plugged into a Star diagnostic, before doing that, I guess you’ve tried different modes?

Is that correct for this model? I had a 2002 and it had summer/winter switch. It would always pull away in 1st unless winter was selected, then would use 2nd.
Mine did this to me twice in 10 years, both times was the electro plate
