Part Number for grommet.

Hi,

Anyone able to help with a part number for the grommet shown in the picture. (I can't check for a PN as it's down the hole and unretrievable)

EPC had been checked by a main dealer and they cannot locate it.

I have checked also using the following site and cannot find anything either.

Well that's 2 on that. I drove down to cheshire oaks today and went to pick up a part for this repair, ended up being wrong part. The parts chaps was very helpful and spent some time looking and wasn't able to specifically pinpoint a grommet in the area I mentioned. (Apart from one related to the lever, for tailgate lift..that prob had a hole in it)

He mentioned a part number that ties up with what you mention (0009980290) but couldn't guarantee it would be correct as dimensions not noted. He couldn't find any other part number.

Seems it's a awkward part. I'll check if they will order it for me without any obligation to purchase. They did on the last one...but that was what they decided was needed.

The opening is 700 x 400 mm, give or take a few mm either way.

You must have giant hands , if the pic is anything to go by .

Dont you mean 70 x 40 mm ?

These may do with a squeeze as they are listed at 70 x 45mm , either that or they could be trimmed and sealed with silicon.

It's an option if all else fails to use aftermarket, but gonna plod on and see if I can get correct MB one for now.

Have thought I could always get seal 280, then fill in the lever hole.

Took a drive down to Prestige all parts today. Helpful chap called Ryan sorted me out with the part.

Cleaned it up and gave my eyes a proper work out reading a part number, some serious focusing required. Shows as A164 988 00 28.

Even though I have this used part now I am going to order a new one.
