Make sure it’s fitted correctly, also the vanes can stick and on occasions the port motor can throw the same fault.

there are always a couple of things to double check before following the fault codes pal , as the chaps above have pointed out , if your garage did not follow this route then they will be chasing their tails a bit

We never change the actuator alone. Complete turbo and intake motor at the same time.
We haven't had success just changing the turbo actuator alone.
To be honest, we discuss this with the customer and normally fit just the actuator as we stock them, 90% of the time this is a good and cheaper fix. If then it turns out to be the turbo vanes sticking we take back the actuator and replace turbo with actuator.

If that fuse blows, you would have a list of faults as long as your arm on a star. :(

fuse

the actuator is a mechanical link to the turbo there's no comms

and if that's OK check exhaust back pressure sensor readings... (a very stupid name) its the bit that tells the actuator (they just replaced) how much to move variable geometry inlet to the turbo vanes...

that senor goes pop before the actuator does, costs 40 quid and can be swapped inside 4 minutes with one 24mm deep socket

I thought the turbo & its actuator were matched to each other. When I had mine refurb'd I got back the mechanical side with new electric bit. c£100 vs the £2000 I was quoted by an indie for a complete new turbo fitted

We do the same, and have the same results.

Mercedes do not supply it separately, the are available aftermarket but need to be fitted correctly.
