A bit silly question but since i am searching for the answer I decided to open this thread.
this has to do with the auto lowering feature of the widnows when you pull the handle to enter the cabin (a feature that one can meet mainly at a coupe 2-door chassis or more rare at a 3 door hatchback that has frame-less windows or at a 4-door coupe style)
I took my a while to open my cls's doors today due to the frozen windows which were stuck on the rubber frame of the chassis. I used some warm water (not hot of course) to unfreeze the windows all-around but when I was trying to enter my car by pulling the door external handle, the window didn't bother to lower itself a bit o allow me access. At the end I decided to pull the door (with the window still in upper position) even though I was watching the window to bend a bit. When I finally had the door opened the window could be operated by the switch.

Question is if I could apply something on the upper rubber seal which is attached on the chassis in order to avoid this firm "glue" contact when there will be ambient temperatures below zero.
Something like a silicone spray or a gummi pfledge would do the job?
I have never owned a frame-less door car in the past so I do not have experience on this matter before. Thanks

You can buy a Pre Icer Spray from Halfords , you spray the night before . But I also used to spray some autoglym vinyl and rubber spray just above the seal on the outside of the door , that seemed to work .
Also remember that the glass can stick at the top as well , so use some gummiplfedge or silicone spray on the top rubbers .
A half car cover also works well

I use krytox it’s like silicone only bit better lasts longer. It’s bit costly though but I have some as used it on rubbers of Vw eos for electric roof

Thank you all guys for your replies. I really appreciate it. I just used some silicone spray at the top rubbers (spraying on a microfiber and then apply it within the U shaped rubber) and also I applied some on the top edge of the doors' windows.
I have always used gummi pfledge on all o fmy previous cars, just for maintenance on the rubbers and seals but I would never thought that I would have this issue with the door opening when the ambient temp will be below 0°
Thanks again.

Gummi plege (May not be spelt correctly) is specifically for this and a small stick/tube lasts years.

Krytox is the stuff recommended by VW for the major probelms encountered with Eos seals, it's damned expensive, and Gummi Pflege does just as good a job. Micks Garage on Ebay is invariably the cheapest place to buy, but look for the listing for 2 tubes as that way it's considerably cheaper than buying a single tube. I've used it for years not just on all the seals on my (8 1/2 years owned, now departed) 968 cab but also on the C220, and once I finally get the SLK back after all the trials and tribulations I'll be giving all the seals on that the treatment. That means the door/window seals, boot seals, convertible top seals, any rubber seal I can find! It works -the C220 lives outdoors and I've never had a problem opening a door on it.

Gummi pfledge makes the old rubber seals to be seen like 6 months old. I have used it on cc cars but in a sunny weather in South Europe for years. The sun in these countries just kills the rubber seals. When I bought my 3years old E90 I had to replace the front windscreen's upper rubber seal cause it was destroyed from the expose under the strong sun.
Never thought that it would also do miracles with the frost. I have two old bottles, this thing lasts for years especially if you apply it on clean rubbers and the sponge remains clean

Used to have a C63...
Yup, Gummi Pflege or silicone spray, wiped sparingly over the seals.

On all my cars that have had frameless glass, I found that simply exhaling along the the seal worked well. (Tip: hold your breath for a couple of seconds before each exhale!)

Granted, if you've got to use all four doors each morning it's not that convenient... but you'll improve your lung capacity in no time! :D

Try running your tongue along the seals to defrost them if you run out of puff buddy  :D
