I have a problem with my 270. One of the injectors popped out and stripped the threads. Tired m6 helicoil but the original bolt holes to big for m6. Can i go m7 or even m8? Is there enough surround metal to be able to drill n tap an m7 or m8 helicoil. All help appreciated

You should retain the original size so that you can keep the original stretch bolt, anything else will not last long term, even if bigger. You should use a timesert etc, to resolve. The rocker cover needs to come off for them.

Just in case others read this. You should, I think, tap a new thread and put in a bigger bolt. This means bigger hole needed in pedestal of course. It works, I have used mine like this for years now. Timeserts do not hold the pressure.

Bought my ml270 recently with no1 having black death, when all cleaned up and injector out, could see broken m6 in holding down hole and short M8 insert in top 45mm ish ,
cleaned up ,refitted injector with new seal and put in short M8 torqued to 18nm(info from web).
Have done about 500 miles since ,checked regularly for any blowing/chuffing/bubbling from injector . no problem so far, and Ive been hammering the car on rd to clean out gunk after egr and pipe clean, so its been under pressure.
