My dad always does this, doesn't have parking dings in his car however has had boy racers crash into his car once and also more than his fair share of people breaking in to the car.

Safety in numbers if you want to avoid the last two...
I'll risk it. :)

I park as far away from other cars as i can every time, and if possible in a corner so that the only damage i can get is on one side, and yes, people think i'm crazy for doing so, especially my work colleagues

but to me it's a wise choice, a dent or ding in a door looks awful and can cost 100 euros or so to fix, so why accept other peoples poor door opening habits, protect your car :)

Lots of people do it, but I personally find it all a bit obsessive, yes I like to look after my cars, but somebody touching a door in a carpark is not something I stress about.

Nipped to town this morning, parked on the multi-storey car park, this is where I parked,
don't trust anyone. :)
Obsessive/Crackers or what?
Would anybody else do this? or is it just me.
P.S. The lift was working. :D

I'm with you :) At work my car parking space is the one on the end and staff/clients have learned not to park next to me if there is an alternative space elsewhere. I'm sure they hink I'm strange but my car is dent free compared to most of theirs :)

In the US you have to park nose first due to most cars only having a rear number plate.

I don't know whether it still applies but in a past job when I used to go to MB in Milton Keynes they liked you to park nose in so you didn't poison the shrubbery

I wouldn’t, like to get my stairs in. Used to do a 24 floor condo in Toronto, think my boy and I were the only ones who ever did mind.

Absolutely what I would do too - and she who must be obeyed does the same thing now.

I don't think I would bother, seems a lot of hassle just to park away from other cars. I also cannot reverse into a space, even with the reversing camera I seem to make a mess of it. As for being 14 floors up, that is pretty extreme! I walk up 109 steps every day in the park, but not sure how many levels that equates to ;)

How do you get out of the car park?

(Just thinking there’s hundreds of cars you’ve left parked nose in around the place...)

All depends on the car I'm using at the time.
Why should I leave my car far away from others in the most inconvenient spot possible, then have a long walk, maybe in the wind and rain, to get back to the shops?
My 'shopping car' just gets parked in the most convenient spot for shopping.
A few dings? So what? It's transport, not a precious artwork.
