Recently purchased a 2007 Mercedes B-Class 2.0 CDi 140 Auto and had to replace the battery. Since doing so, my Sat Nav/Cd player radio does not work. The Mercedes logo comes on screen for a while and I can here my multi stack CD unit checking for cd's but nothing else.
I've disconnected the battery again, but no joy.
Must be something easy but what!
Can someone please help me with this.

Thanks
Mike

Try a long press of the 'on' button as this hard resets on some MB units

I've tried that but with no joy.
I've been told that it needs a loop test/reset.
I've just purchased the loop, also called a lollipop, so I will have to pull out the unit and give it a go next week.
Fingers crossed but if you have any other suggestions, then please let me know.

Thanks
Mike

Had this problem recently with my E Class. A quick check of the fuses for each component in the loop may show the cause with less hassle than pulling the car apart to get at the components. My car had separate fuses for Comand, sat nav, cd changer and the amp. If that doesn't help then it does indeed need a loop test to ascertain which component is disrupting the loop and probable replacement of the faulty component which in my case was a Comand unit.

Thanks for your help.
I've taken out the fuses, checked and replaced but still the same.
So, I will have a go at checking the fibre loop.
I've got a feeling it's the command unit but will see.
How much did it cost for your command unit...

Thanks
Mike

Bought a matching numbers used unit for £150 and fitted myself. My "blackout" fault was intermittent so it was a pain to diagnose exactly what was causing it. I also had a battery drain where the sat nav, amp and unit were all drawing power every few mins. Changing the unit cured all.

Managed to get my unit fixed.
2mtrs of fibre optic cable and a few new connectors and all good.
Took 2 hrs and cost £105 all in, so not bad and cheaper than purchasing a new unit.
One question that I never asked was, the VIDEO or DVD is not operating. Is this an added extra from new on this model being a 2007?
I presume it is but would like to know for certain.

Thanks

Video should only work when the car is stationary.

Doesn't work when stationary.
When pressed, it just displays NO VIDEO.
Is it an optional extra as I've done some research and it's not standard on early model Mercs.
Mines a 2007 B-Class, so I'm presuming it's not standard on mine?

Video works with a DVD in the system (assuming it will take a DVD)

Will not play dvd's, it just states on the screen 'No Video'.
When I put in the sat nav disc it obviously reads the disc and all is OK.
It must just be that it's an early command unit and will not play dvd's???
Someone must be able to put my mind at rest?

My 2006 E320 used to play DVD’s in the slot in the Comand unit with the video button

I'm sure that it's not set up for TV or DVD.
The more I research the more I'm realising.
If it had, when pressing the VIDEO button, it should display TV to the top left and AV1 and AV2 to the right of the screen.
It just displays NO TV, so I presume it's not set up.
Alot of the early clk's don't have it as standard either.
Unless someone out there can 100% verify that my comms unit either has or not, I really don't know.
All help is appreciated.

Thanks

Oh!
So, are you saying that the dvd should be working?
