Afternoon all...

Since checking thru my VIN information after seeing the thread.... My E250 apparently has an ‘auto start’ feature....

This works with the 4 button key with panic button on... have checked my keys and neither of them have that feature

is it just a case of purchasing a 4 button key and exchanging the transponders ?????

Thanking you in advance:)

If you mean keyless go there is an additional bit that fits in the ignition key hole instead of the key. Not unusual for dealers to 'lose' them.

There is an option on my original VIN listing that denotes the car supports remote start.. ( as in whilst the vehicle is locked I can start the car off the key from within a set distance )

I didn’t purchase mine direct from MB
It’s 4 yrs old

Remote start is not done with the Mercedes Me app but with another app called Parking, when you start that app you first need to pair your car with the phone (over bluetooth). Once all that is done, you can walk up to your car, press the unlock button on your key fob and from that point onwards, start your car remotely, and reverse it, forward it, and so on. You need to stay approx 3 meters from the car while doing all this, i've got the feature on my car and it's great fun, but probably that's about it. More info in this video here.
