It may well return to normal after a few cycles of starting

No point in a cheap scanner as it won't clear SRS faults.

My SRS light took a few days to go out after we fixed the problem that was causing it (set belt catch malfunction).

How did you fix the seatbelt catch problem? How did you know you had a seatbelt problem? Mine only started when I removed the battery

SRS light came on, MB did a diagnostic on Star, it came back with a passenger seat belt SRS fault. I ordered a new seat belt catch and fitted it myself. Initially, it did not fix the problem, so much disappointment. But after a few days the light went out and stayed out. It still comes on when you start the car but goes out after a couple of seconds which is normal. MB charged me for the diagnostic, I can't remember how much but it was less than 100 squid. It is the only way to go, you need someone with Star or you are guessing.

I did a thread on here about it a few weeks ago, because there is nothing more annoying than an SRS light, and it is an MOT failure.

£100 would've bought you an iCarsoft reader than would have been able to reset your SRS light/message ;)

I had the SRS light always on when I bought my CLK 500 Cabriolet 2003. I did two things, one of which cured it. I sprayed furniture polish on the belt webbing to make the seatbelts retract properly which they now do and I sprayed WD40 into the belt catch. The SRS light went out. The second is most likely, but who knows. At least my belts now retract.

These have the fuse locations. There are more available if you need them?

Fuses are okay just broken the connector plug for the srs pyro that connects to the live terminal on the battery.. I’ve bypassed it now with a 3ohm resistor in the plug head
