Just checked my old Capri GL reg number L7 JKX, it must have finally died or just the registration number swapped off of it because it is now on a 1 year old Audi A5 :(

That link didn't work for me, I put in our last cars reg and nothing. Keith found it through another site and it's still taxed and MOT'd and it's now done over 60,000. When we sold it back in 2016 it had done 34,000. Still miss it as it had a lot of extras our current car doesn't have. Can't remember the reg of our other 2 cars, have pics of them but none that show the reg number

MV64 HZL was the E63 but must be on private plates now as not found
FX58 LYP SL500 seems to be going fine but covering few miles between MOTs
Can remember quite a few of my old car registrations still...
Just a small thread resurrection /update I noted my old SL failed an MOT in feb, all 4 tyres dangerous and a management light malfunction! Car had only covered 2k miles since it's last MOT (probably up on ramps the rest of the time)

You really don't have fond memories of that car do you? :)

In New Zealand we used to get new registration plates each time you taxed your car yearly, this stopped in 1964 so hard to remember what our parents cars numbers were. I remember the new black and silver plate Dad fitted (well the first two letters) 'BI' Then in 1972 the front plate got damaged and the new plate number was GJ1446, gosh what a memory :D BY6827 was another of Dad's car numbers, I'd have to look back on photo's now to see what else he had. YWe used to have a ownership log book in NZ too and it would give all the past owners from new and where the car was bought from and address's, then the log book changed style in the early 90's and only included the past 4 or 5 owners names. Don't know what it is like now.

I've just checked an A-Class I used to own which, when I sold it, had around 125k on the clock. Mysteriously it has lost 60,000 miles.
Funny how some cars do that!!!

One of my old cars mileage went up and down nearly for each MOT, found out that it could be set for miles or kilometres ;)

I remember my dad had DD5000 on his Vauxhall 101 and DD5175 on his VX 4/90.

My first car was EY5038 and my second DW1530 (Cooper S 1275). My Daihatsu Charade Turbo was LF5347 and my Mitsubishi Mirage turbo (Colt in the UK) was LH8488
Two of my last cars there were GJ434 (Valiant Pacer) and MR888 (Holden Barina).

Given the newest of these would now be 34+ years old I doubt any will still be on the road.

Our GT3 got MOT'd in February with the dash set to Km as it's previous outing was in Europe. A bit of a pain, but it does state Km on the MOT record, so not really an issue.

I'd love to know what happened to my 1994 (April) Porsche 968 tiptronic coupe L456GKE. Tried the Askmid and MoT sites, registration not recognised. I was 2nd owner, bought 11/98 at 26k miles and sold 12 1/2 years later (July 2011) at 64k miles, a year or so later it appeared at a second hand car showroom in Buckingham, I tried emailing them to ask, no response.

Funny how we remember bits of useless information
My Mums second car was EY5464 and my Pacer E31 was HH4428 and one of my 450SEL was MR, but can't remember the numbers, I'd have to look that up :)
Holden Barina, you own up to owning one of those
My wife was using our 350SL to do here district nurse rounds until the hospital board totalled their monthly fuel bill's, they gave her a Holden Barina to use :(

It certainly upset the mot record on my Jag, it too was used for European journeys and the problem was each mot person would pit miles in stead of km so it looked like a real chequered history  Luckily for me an enthusiast bought the car off me so no issues :D
