Car parking ticket

Hello chaps,
Yesterday I went to the hospital because at the weekend I nearly cut my finger off. Anyway while at the hospital I got a parking ticket I ripped it off the window and through it in the car. When I got home I realised that on the ticket they have got my registration wrong where do I stand? Should I just pay the ticket? Or have I had a lucky escape

I guess they will pursue the owner of the car with that registration number on.
How far away from your number is it wrong ?.
Personally I would say nowt until someone says something. Just blame it on the mended cut finger.

Its the ticket wardens mistake and I don't see how you can be chased for non payment with the wrong registration.
Wait and see.

Busted. Best pay up and get it over with.
Does the ticket cost 50% less if paid within 14 days. It does with my local council.

Yeah it's 40 quid now for 14 days then 70 after it. The ****ers

They may have pics but the ticket itself is incorrect and should be void as it's not your car. It depends on how far you want to take it, or just pay the fine and be done with it.

^ I would expect the parking company/council to refer to the photographic evidence showing the reg plate to reinforce their case if it was disputed.

Doesn't matter whether they have a photo or not. The penalty ticket has the wrong registration number so they cannot enforce it. If you do nothing they will refer to the ticket and send a reminder to the owner of the wrong reg. They can't use the photo to get your reg as they don't have a penalty ticket that corresponds with it. My better half had this a few years back - never heard anything from them. My advice, don't pay it, don't make any communication with them...

As per davidsl500 picture or not they have no legal standing as the ticket has the wrong number plate on. If it were me I would appeal it and state the number is incorrect and therefore is invalid.

They will write back and state they have cancelled the ticket.
