daughter shut seat belt in rear door of her zafira she pulled it out and now she has phoned me to say the door won’t open from inside or out. I have not seen it but any ideas to fix would help. Don’t know yet if the door card will come off with the door shut.
sorry if posting wrong place. but any advice would be welcome,
Except for dump it. Lol

No need to dump it. Just wait a bit and it'll spontaneously combust.

Where was the belt trapped? In the latch or in the door rubbers/frame?

No need to fix as it will shortly set fire to itself .

To be honest I don’t know yet I just got a message saying Daddy ————
I am thinking latch but if the latch I don’t know if it would have pulled out
though.

might have to do that , bought it 2 yrs ago for £400 70000 mls full history spent £150 on it putting servo
in and doing all the brakes. So it doesn’t own anything. how much are match’s. ( that’s not fair we car has done well little no real trouble )

Pulling the belt out may have flicked the child lock on that door so if you are going to force it then get someone to pull on the outside handle just to be sure.

What I was meaning is that clearly something has jammed the door so incase the child lock had been switched when pulling the belt free then the outside handle should be liftred prior to forcing the door from the inside.

May sound daft, but has she tried locking, then unlocking it? Just in case a catch has been slipped by the belt?

yes , I will see it tomorrow or Tuesday, she said the handle feels like it’s working but I have a feeling it might be a rod hooked off inside door up at the catch. I hope it’s not a cable in them doors.

I had a passenger do the same to my old Defender a while back - I was worried about knackering things up, but in the end it got resolved by holding internal door handle out, whilst I gave it a meaningful degree of bootage as close to the latch as possible!
