Bought a SLC250d Dec 2016 14K miles full MB service history today from Arnold Clark Ltd.
I was asked if I would like to return & collect the car later today, I said yes. Went home transferred the funds into my current account & informand the insurance company.

Two hours before I was due to collect the car received a phone call, saying there was a MB recall on the car & I could collect Friday. I was rather suspicious of the excuse & said don't bother I will get it done at the service which is due. They replied company policy is not to release the car if there is an outstanding recall.

Just wondering how they would have been informed of the recall, being an independent dealer?
Its anyone aware of a recall for SLC250d cars?

Some Arnold Clark’s are main dealers - it’s not the NOX emissions recall is it?

I did wonder that, & I didn't realise that some are MB main dealers.
Its a much softer ride than the SLK, & its on 18" wheels.

Arnold Clark bought the John R Weir Mercedes dealers a few years ago now. It will be the software update for diesels, many complaints about that the car being poorer after it's done. Maybe do some research and get another test drive before you commit.

Major shunt in the car park !!
That’s the soonest the body shop can fix it

Only my little joke, I am very suspicious of main dealers though.

Check for water leaks as well, mine just had a new roof and it's only got 7000 miles on it.

I imagine the Nox emissions update will be carried out when the forecourt cars are sold not prior hence the delay

Picked the car up Friday afternoon went all over it again couldn't find anything, they assured me it was a MB recall. It managed 37mpg fighting my was out of Birmingham on a Friday afternoon.
First trip out today to see may son for lunch 130 miles round trip & 57mpg. Mostly A roads & a little town work, the SLK200K used to do 38mpg on the same run.
I think possibly it was the NOX emissions recall, reluctant to go into 9th gear even a 70mpg. I could tap it up on the paddle, but would only stay there on a very light throttle.
Overall very pleased loads of goodies, the only one missing I would have liked is LED headlights.
Pics to follow Wighty.
