NEW SL500 r230 Owner Derbyshire

Quick hello
As stated I’ve just bought a 52 reg SL500 from a friend, lovely spec with only 58k!
It does needs a little love and a good run to get everything back up to working order.
Can anybody recommend a trusted Mechanic/Garage around Derbyshire that knows their way around Mercedes especially the R230?
Any help much appreciated

That is where my wife's car goes and now that my service contract with MB has run it's course, where mine will be going in future. He is a good guy to deal with.

I think it's not so much of a worry as it was John, experience and expertise exists to repair at a reasonable cost these days, so a new front damper ball joint cost me £100 from Star, whereas in the past that would have been £1,200 for a new damper. Even a pump is not big money if you shop around, and those replacement pumps should last the life of the car.

On the other side, it is an excellent system when working well, and makes the car in my view.

Welcome to the forum and coming into MB ownership with a bang - R230 500 is a smashing beast, but needs to be treated with care.

If you are planning on doing an ABC fluid flush, I have started a group buy thread here. The fluid is quite expensive so we are hoping to bring the price right down.

There are many R230 owners on here and some very informed people who are more than willing to help!

Can I also suggest that you get yourself a scanner to keep in the glovebox for when the computer is trying to tell you something. The iCarsoft MB V2.0 is pretty decent for the money and plenty of fans here, myself included.
