My wife drove the car from Surrey down to Devon on Friday, 170 miles. I was working in London, so took the train to meet her there. As she's never driven it before I asked how she liked it. 'I caught myself over a hundred a couple of times, you just don't realise...' I drove back today, same mileage. Pleased to average 26.2 mpg. It's a great car for a long run, just effortless.

I know, they recommend every 4 years and that is 4 years. There is a flow meter on the right hand one so they must still be supplying enough air, feels a different car

I still never get the reasoning behind the change em every 4 years

Seems a long time but at £65 a pair or £180 from Exeter MB people would probably complain at the cost. when I bought the car at 5 years old I am not sure they had been changed ever

.
Took it to get rear parking cables replaced, turns out the rear brake discs got to come off, to hook the new cables in ... 3hr job instead of 1-1.5hrs ... at least I got GLA courtesy car with keyless go. I knew that brand new RFID blocking key pouch will come handy one day. So what it has taken three years or so, to find a use for it o_O

Opened my boot lid and studied the rubbers, water trail and boot alignment and have come to the conclusion that the water seeps in between the boot lid and the rubber

Had that problem with my old SLK now gone. Pleased to say the SLC is completely dry in the boot, but they completely redesigned the sealing system.

I think I have sorted that part around the rubbers on the sides after adjusting the boot catch.
Only now I have to put a towel on the passenger seat  I've adjusted the catch on the top of the windscreen that catches the roof and locks it down, but think I may have to look at the cables inside the roof. The roof's not quite sealing over the left hand top fully. But that will have to wait till the foots better, so in the mean time towels are the order of the day :(

Passenger in the SLK to have my stitches out, discovered there weren't any  just a couple of steristrips and a gauze.
Coming home I never knew how hard it is to take a clear photo from a moving SLK on 18" wheels

Nice place to be though :)

Took mine cross country to “Hope” and back, quite a few gritters out but my winter tyres didn’t have any issues on the most wonderful roads
