Would've expected a bit more out of them.
Dealer put Davanti on when I got it. Way more life from them

Hmm I would have too. May want to check the alignment. I get 8K+ out of the rears on a 1300NM S class......

Alignment was checked a few months ago. Spot on.
Would the self levelling suspension ever cause it?

If the alignment was checked at the wrong ride height, then yes. Although I would expct an evenly worn tread to be toe related rather than camber, which is affected more by ride height.

No. Self leveling prolongs tyre life by making sure the wheels are always at the intended camber and toe.

Was done on a Hunter by a well renowned place in Liverpool.
Can only assume they knew their stuff.
Rests were spot on. N/S front slightly out

AMGeed, those Falkens look like a bargain......what a shame they don't supply them in 285/50x18...

As I'm broke ATM after paying the ridiculously-high Road Tax for the ML. I'll be looking at low-end tyres for the rear, but at the low-end, it's even more important to do your homework before you click "Buy".

If the online reviews are to be believed (never a given) Nexen beats Kumo in most areas...(also Toyo and Hankook).
They have the added advantage of also being about 15% cheaper...

I don't think the Nexen is bad money, well rated as well

11000 miles and the Kumho tyres are dead. Worn evenly is about all I can say.
I had a pair on the rear of the 171 SLK200 did about the same on 18" wheels. Original Conti's did about 16K miles, but cost a lot more to buy.

Mark, it sure does, but I wanted more grip, smoother ride and rim protection that the 285's give me.

The financial hit is worth it....

Now, if only there was something I could do about the £555 Road Tax...

Maybe they aren’t “the ultimate” tyre, (how many of us really need the bragging rights of £300 a corner?) - but they are very good, had them on my Legacy Twin Turbo, and found them predictable, quiet, and they perform well in both the wet and dry, (and have had them on my CL500)

I think my 285 Pirelli P Zero on the rear were only £120 a piece :)

As I said, I found dry and wet grip very good....
