Many thanks Blobcat and Wighty. I am as SW19 (Wimbledon). Either Alexander or Ian are at about one hour drive from where I live. I will email both to check availability (I would need to wait whilst done). Let me know nonetheless if you or any one can think of other options closer to Wimbledon. Best. M

Hello guys, sorry its been a while. I took my car to an indi who removed the offending part but did not replace it. I have a working gearbox but can pull it out of park without pressing the brake pedal. Im still trying to find a reliable person who can fix this without trying to get me to buy a whole new unit...Any one have any recomendations?

Look on Ebay for a metal gear shift repair kit, costs about £35.
