My C220d 2013 model just started giving me problems. The dashboard lights up quiet nicely and when I turn the key it won't start. I went to the relay box and tried to see if maybe it blew a fuse I am unable to determine that. I have no idea which direction I should go because even in the diagnostics report it is not showing what the problem is. Can anyone help with troubleshooting

Try your battery first - had something similar 3 weeks ago, car opened, dash etc came up but key pos 3 did nothing. Battery condition tester said battery was only half charged (and it was a 4 month old 100AH jobbie!), put my charger on for a few hours, car started. Later turned out that the battery was faulty, just had it replaced under warranty.

Common problem with cars that age batteries usually last 6-8 years. The battery should read 12.6V car stood with the engine not running and 13-15V when the engine is running and the alternator charging

Best to replace with Varta and Bosch which are OEM, I use Tayna who offer a next day delivery service, I always top the battery up with a charge before fitting

What did you buy are you sure it isn’t the new battery at fault?
Will try take ut back tomorrow for them to test it. Was looking for the receipt first.

I bought a new battery for my 2008 S204 C220 in late November from Halfords, it's a Yuasa (the only make Halfords sell, even their own brand ones are Yuasa), on Sunday they replaced it as it was faulty. See my thread "Help, Dead Car" on here. Having spent £158 on the new battery and fitting I asked if they could offer a different brand - answer No. At least it comes with a 5 year warranty, so after 4 months they replaced it with not too much hassle - but next time I'll use the North Wales outfit who have excellent prices, after checking price from MBNewcastle via Ebay.

MB dont like low voltage for starting, the cars simply just wont turn over and appear stone dead.
Get a voltmeter across the battery to check.
I buy genuine merc batteries, I am getting at least 10 years out of them!
