Can anyone tell me if the above part number is an injector assembly or just a plastic housing ?

Do I need the nozzles too. Or do I just need nozzles, I've read the plastic housings can break.

Thanks
Stuart

Further investigation. I think these are for 280 and 320 SL. Mine is 300SL-24 so look like all separate bits.

Yes, those are for the later M104 engine. I think you need:

Injection nozzle: A0000785823 BOSCH : 0437502054

Injection nozzle guide tube: A1160700077

Injection nozzle bushing: A1030700054

Injection nozzle seal ring: A1039970045

That's what I fitted to my 300CE.

Very rare if the plastic cage will need replacing . Rubber seals and o rings yes. And injectors may be .I changed 6 on my m103 but found it made very little if any after 31 years in situ .

Thanks Rayhennig. I have already ordered those. The plastic cage no longer available but I found some. Working on the principle. If I dont get them they will break. If I get them I wont need them. Best to be prepared

Don't worry, MBFAN - nothing worse than having it all in bits then breaking something for which you haven't got a replacement - for starters they won't be in stock when you need them - Mr Murphy is alive and well making laws about parts availability!

dave its how it goes i came to the last one ot the injectors . And i remove the other 5 easy .But for some reason the bolt that holds down the injectorno 6 to cylinder head was stuck .Only way i could remove the old injector was to force the holder open to get a better grip on the allen bolt .Well that damaged the injector holder . I went on to Ebay and good friend who sent me 2 one to use and one to keep .

I'm glad you got out of trouble - and isn't that what friends are for!
