New to MB club

Hey Guys,

I recently bought 2019 A220 and happy to join the MB family

My MB journey hasn't started as i was expecting. Im happy with the car, it looks and drives well. But the dealership i bought it from a total disaster. LSH Birmingham Central

When i was buying the car, i paid £500 holding deposit and also handed over my Vauxhall Corsa as a part of deposit. They said they value the car for £5050. Half of this money will go towards the deposit for my mercedes and the rest will settle my Vauxhall finance. It has now been more than 2 weeks since i collected my new car, but they haven't refunded my holding deposit yet and also they haven't settled my vauxhall corsa finance. Their stores are closed due to covid-19, but their management team still working remotely. I've tried to contact LSH several times, they always say they will get back to me, but nobody does. So now i end up with 2 car finances and also short of £500, my payments for April are due soon, i don't know what to do, who to speak to?
I feel like i've been fooled and they took my car without paying, like how this is possible? No updates nothing...

Anyone had this kind of experience before or any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Dealers are not the most efficient at the best of times so the current crisis and remote working won’t help. Keep making a nuisance of yourself and see if you can get a mobile number for one of their team and then become a real nuisance! Good luck.

Hi Kam, welcome to the forum. I think first of all you need to talk direct to the two finance houses involved to try and get some indication as to where precisely you stand with them. Most importantly keep the pressure on the dealer, make a real nuisance of yourself with them and maybe they will just want to get you off their back. Bear in mind of course that they may be working under difficulties. Just keep the pressure on.

Plus these people are there to help.

You shouldn't need to resort to the ombudsman but they are there to help. How helpful they will I don't know but try them. Maybe suggest to LSH that the ombudsman in on your call list

I’ve already spoken to Mercedes they said these payments are handled by dealerships locally, they cant do anything. But also emailed Vauxhall to see if i can delay payment for a month or two.

I’ve already applied to Financial Ombudsman. I will have a look to the one you suggesting
I understand they may have difficulties, but at least they can send me 1 email with explanation, but they prefer to completely ignore, which ****es me off. Hopefully will get this sorted

A Google search suggests the LSH M/D is Martin Webb and his email is martyn.webb@lshauto.co.uk. In my experience, a polite email to the top man usually gets action.

As we speak, i just received an email from them. They refunded my deposit and processed the settlement. Just waiting for it to appear in my finance account looks like putting a pressure has worked
